The Youth Tech Fest (https://www.youthtechfest.com/) with more than 400 participants was held for the first time in Cyprus on November 18, 2023, at the University of Nicosia campus.
The Youth Tech Fest aims at being a lively celebration of children’s passion for all things Technology, Art, Science, and Entrepreneurship and the recognition of educators’ efforts to prepare literate citizens for a technology-driven society.
The 2023 Youth Tech Fest featured a large summit for educators, policy shapers, and entrepreneurs with presentations focusing on STEM education, digital education, AI in education, and safety in cyberspace.
During the summit, the UNIC AILab hosted a panel discussion on “Advancing Education with AI” featuring 4 expert panelists giving their input on the subject and answering several questions from the summit’s audience.
Dr. Demetris Trihinas from the AILab served as the panel host and moderator, while the panel was comprised of the following 4 panelists:
- Charalambos Vrasidas, Executive Director CARDET and Associate Dean for e-learning at UNIC
- Michalis Agathocleous, Director of AI and Data Science at Goldman Solutions and Services
- Christina Shailas, Founder and CEO Gear Education
- Demetris Paschalides, Visiting Faculty at UNIC specializing in Natural Language Processing
